Initial Medication Administration
This class is for anyone providing DD Services who is not currently certified to administer medications.
During this 14-hour class, you will learn about:
- Handling emergency situations such as anaphylaxis, uncontrolled seizures, and hypoglycemia
- How to give or apply medication, store medications and what to do in the event of a missed dose
- Different categories of medications including antibiotics, antipsychotics, diabetes drugs, nutritional supplements, and more.
- Skills such as using a glucometer for blood sugar monitoring and checking blood pressure
- And much more
An “Application for DD Personnel to Attend the DODD Medication Administration Certification Course” must be completed prior to attending. This form will be emailed to you after registration.
